Chapter 3

Chapter 3

I yawned and opened my eyes when the car stopped. I looked around and Liam was smiling over at me, "We're here." he said and got out of the car and walked up a short flight of steps to a porch. I climbed out of the car and walked up the flight of steps to where Liam stood. Grant, Gabriel and Skye unloaded the trunk and began to bring things inside as soon as Liam opened the front door and led me inside. We walked into a spacious living room with a set of stairs the led to a loft. There was a small hallway that led to a nice sized kitchen. Liam grabbed my hand and led me up the stairs, "This will be our room." He said opening a door and letting me walk in first.

My eyes widened, there was a large four poster bed. A large bay window with a cushy seat. I turned and looked at Liam before I went on the tip of my toes so I could wrap my arms around his neck and pull him close. I breathed in his scent. He smelled just like the ocean. He lifted me into his arms and groaned when I wrapped my legs around his waist, "I love you Liam. You make me feel like nothing in the world can touch me or hurt me." I whispered in his ear before I nipped at his jaw.

Liam cupped my cheek in the palm of his hand, "I love you and I promise no one is going to touch or hurt you." He said softly before he leaned forward and pressed a kiss to my lips just as the door to the bedroom opened.

"Hey Liam we have a problem." Gabriel said with a worried look on his face.

"What's going on?" He asked as he set me down on the floor and held me close to his side.

I looked at Gabriel and just knew, "They're here." I whispered and literally melted into Liam.

Gabriel nodded, "The Alpha is here. He's waiting in the living room for you Liam."

Liam nodded and began walking out of the room holding my hand and making sure I stayed behind him, "He can't have you." Liam growled softly to me as we walked down the stairs and into the living room.

In the middle of the room stood my worst nightmare. His dark blonde hair and blue eyes swept over me and he grinned a wicked grin, "She's mine Liam." He growled and took a step towards me.

I held tight to Liam and took a step back so I stood behind him, "She's mine. Not yours." Liam growled back, "She wears my scent, not yours." Liam said as I placed my palms on his back and rested my forehead on his back.

"That whore would carry anyone's scent." he said with a smirk.

Liam growled at that, "She is my mate. She now carries my scent. You should take it as the warning it is and leave her alone."

"Liam," I whispered softly and he turned and looked at me, "He's not worth the trouble." I said when he stared into my eyes. I looked at my warden, the man that had kept me prisoner for eight years, "I'm not going anywhere with you. I'm staying here with my mate." I literally growled at him, "If you need anymore proof that I'm not yours nor was I ever yours," I trailed off as I pulled Liam close and kissed him with all the love and passion I felt for him. Something I had never done with my alpha. Everything we'd ever done had been forced but not with Liam. I had given of myself like he had given of himself and I knew deep inside he would never have to force me to do anything.

Liam pulled back from our kiss and smirked at the man who had tortured me, "Leave. Now." Liam said as he picked me up in his arms and walked out of the room. Seconds later the front door slammed closed.

"He's not going to give up." Skye said from where he sat at the bottom of the stairs.

Liam nodded, "I know. He seems pretty determined to have you, Megara." He said as he looked down at me as I frowned.

He might seem determined to have me but it wasn't because he wanted me to warm his bed at night. He had wanted me to be his alpha female. I could feel it radiating off of him when he'd stared at me, "I made my choice and he made his." I said as I set my feet on the ground and walked over to the fridge. Opening the fridge I looked inside, "Can someone cook? I don't exactly know how." I said as I looked over my shoulder to look at Skye, who stood and began digging in the fridge while I sat down in a stool and watched him.

I didn't feel as weird as I had in the city. All the openness and glass in the house made it seem like the woods came inside. I glanced at Liam, who had walked over and sat down next to me, I couldn't help but stare at him. He was so much more than I had expected in a mate. I had resigned myself to being the mate of one of the alphas friends. I thanked the gods in the heavens that that hadn't happened. Liam smiled when he caught me looking at him.

"Whenever you're ready I'll have Grant get the high priestess." Liam said softly as he stared at me.

"You can have her come whenever you want." I replied as I placed my elbows on the island in front of me and rested my head on my hands.

Liam nodded as Grant and Gabriel walked into the kitchen, "Food!" they exclaimed together as Skye put a plate of eggs on the island and turned back to the stove.

"Grant, I need you to go pick up the high priestess." Liam said as he stood and grabbed plates and forks from a cabinet.

Grant shrugged, "Ok. So how do you like it here Megara?" He asked me as Liam served me a plate of eggs and handed me a fork.

I stared at the fork then looked over at Grant who had a bit of a smile on his face as he saw the confusion in mine, "It's beautiful." I said and looked back at the fork.

Liam smiled over at me before walking over and helping me use the fork, "You hold it like this." He said and showed me how to hold it.

I frowned down at the fork as the eggs kept falling off. After about the fifth try I was about to give up when the eggs finally stayed on the fork, "I did it." I exclaimed and ate the eggs.

Liam just smiled and shook his head as he made himself a plate and sat down next to me. After we'd finished breakfast Grant left while Skye, Gabriel, Liam and I sat in the living room watching tv. While Liam and I were watching tv Gabriel and Skye were fooling around, "Who's the high priestess?" I asked Liam when the tv show we were watching went to commercial.

"She's not as important as you." Liam said pulling me close into his side.

I sighed and cuddled close. I must've fallen asleep because when I opened my eyes Skye and Gabriel were gone and Grant was walking into the house. Behind him stood a young woman about my age. Her curly hair reached her shoulders and was a rich brown. Her chocolate brown eyes had specks of silver and gold. My eyes traveled over her and there on her arm, just like Liam, Gabriel, Skye and Grant, she had an all seeing eye, "Hello." she said as she walked further into the living room.

I sat up and looked at Liam before looking back at her, "Hello." I replied and saw her smile at me.

"My name is Nicola." She said with a half smile as she sat in a love seat close to the door as if knowing that I wasn't comfortable with her being close to me.

"This is Megara." Liam said as he stroked a hand down my hair and tucked it behind my ear.

"She's beautiful Liam. Nothing less than what you deserve." She said to Liam.

Liam nodded and looked over at Grant, "Did you have any trouble?" He asked him and watched as Grant shook his head.

"Not at all and that was a surprise." Grant said with a shake of his head, "We were expecting someone from the night stalkers to at least follow us, but they didn't even do that." He said sounding dismayed.

I smiled at his tone. He really seems sad and down about it, "Were you expecting to come back with a story of your heroics?" I asked him sarcastically.

He shrugged and replied, "You used to enjoy my battle stories." He said and smiled back at me.

"That was the old me. If I even smell blood," I shuddered at the thought. It was a surprise I woke from my nightmares and didn't head straight for the bathroom.

Grant shrugged, "I guess people can change." He said with a grin on his face as Nicola leaned forward in her seat and burst out laughing.

I frowned at them and looked at Liam who had a smile on his face, "Have I met you before?" I asked Nicola wanting to know more about myself and my past lives.

She shook her head, "You always died the day before we were supposed to meet." She said with a sad look on her face, "This is the first time we've ever met and no offense but it's exciting for me to meet the host of the All Seeing Eye." She said with a grin making me smile at her for being honest with me.

"No offense taken," I whispered as Liam wrapped an arm around me.

"The other priestesses will be here soon to meet you Megara. I hope Liam explained to you that you're special." Nicola said as she looked over at Liam with a hopeful look on her face.

"All he mentioned to me was exactly that, that I was special." I said to Nicola who frowned at Liam.

"In all of her other lives you told them within ten minutes of them meeting you, but not her?" Nicola exclaimed as she stood and began to pace the room.

"She's my mate Nicola." Liam said with a growl making me frown over at him.

"That has nothing to do with it." She yelled at Liam making me look over at her and growl, "If you don't tell her, I will." She said pointing a finger at Liam.

Liam growled softly but looked away from Nicola and looked over at me, "Megara, when I first met you, your name was Ai. You lived in Japan with your father. You had visions and he knew when to protect his castle. One night a demon came and spread rumors through the town. Rumors that went along the lines that you had to be sacrificed to stop the demons from attacking." Liam sighed before continuing, "That's when I met you in the forest running away from your own townspeople, before I could do anything they shot you with an arrow, you tumbled into my arms. Once the villagers saw that you would be dead by nightfall they left. That's when you began to whisper to me. About who you were. I mentioned to you how she told me your name but she also said that....that you would die trying to save everyone." He finished and stood off the couch and went back up stairs.

I heard the door slam far away from me. I could almost see the forest that Liam had been talking about. I could almost smell the air and feel the cold ground, but the pain was unbearable and every breath was like lava. I blinked and the sensations disappeared as if they had never been. I knew deep inside that I had said more to Liam in those moments in the forest as I lay dying. He wouldn't have just sworn his allegiance to anybody. Would he?

'Of course not.' I heard my wolf whisper and I couldn't help but believe her, 'He loved us, even then.' My eyes traveled to the stairs and then back over to Nicola who stood near the window, she smiled encouragingly at me. That's all I needed. I raced up the stairs and opened the door to the bedroom I shared with Liam.
